چکیده

Handwritten signature is the most widely accepted biometric for identity verification. To facilitate objective evaluation and comparison of algorithms in the field of automatic handwritten signature verification, we organized the First International Signature Verification Competition (SVC2004) recently as a step towards establishing common benchmark databases and benchmarking rules. For each of the two tasks of the competition, a signature database involving 100 sets of signature data was created, with 20 genuine signatures and 20 skilled forgeries for each set. Eventually, 13 teams competed for Task 1 and eight teams competed for Task 2. When evaluated on data with skilled forgeries, the best team for Task 1 gives an equal error rate (EER) of 2.84% and that for Task 2 gives an EER of 2.89%. We believe that SVC2004 has successfully achieved its goals and the experience gained from SVC2004 will be very useful to similar activities in the future.

Online Signature Verification: a Robust Approach for Persian Signatures

In this paper, the specific trait of Persian signatures is applied to signature verification. Efficient features, which can discriminate among Persian signatures, are investigated in this approach. Persian signatures, in comparison with other languages signatures, have more curvature and end in a specific style. An experiment has been designed to determine the function indicating the most robus...

Identity authentication using improved online signature verification method

We present a system for online handwritten signature verification, approaching the problem as a two-class pattern recognition problem. A test signature s authenticity is established by first aligning it with each reference signature for the claimed user, using dynamic time warping. The distances of the test signature to the nearest, farthest and template reference signatures are normalized by t...

Practical On-Line Signature Verification

A new DTW-based on-line signature verification system is presented and evaluated. The system is specially designed to operate under realistic conditions, it needs only a small number of genuine signatures to operate and it can be deployed in almost any signature capable capture device. Optimal features sets have been obtained experimentally, in order to adapt the system to environments with dif...
